RCA Basketball Warriors stage comeback, stay perfect in District play
The RCA Warriors (13-5) entered their recent game with Cleveland Christian as the SCAA South district leader but had to rally from 15 points down to maintain their perfect record. With the game tied 30-30 at the half, Cleveland Christian came out strong and held a 15 point lead as the third quarter wound down. The Warriors responded with a full-court press and a relentless attack that led to their improbable 73-72 victory. The Warriors were led in scoring by Jonathan Hostetler and Micah Hall with 36 and 32 points respectively.
Later in the week the Warriors played the always tough Collegedale Academy Eagles in district play. The Warriors jumped out to a 17-0 lead behind 15 quick points from Jonathan Hostetler and expanded that margin to end up with a 74-54 victory. Jonathan Hostetler led all scorers and set an RCA scoring record with 46 points for the game.
The Warriors next home game (played at Ft. Bluff Camp) is Thursday, January 28th against the second place Calvary Crusaders of Chattanooga. The Warriors schedule record and schedule is posted at http://www.rheacountyacademy.org/athletics/basketball.aspx
