RCA breaks ground for additional buildings
Representatives of Rhea County Academy and Core Academy of Science met on Sunday afternoon to break ground for the placement of two new buildings which will serve both organizations. The buildings will be located on the east side of the current school building on California Avenue. They will house the classrooms for high school students at Rhea County Academy and office and laboratory space for Core Academy of Science. The prefabricated buildings with their adjacent walks and decking are expected to be ready for use when the school year for Rhea County Academy begins on August 10.
Supporters watch as those with shovels, Brian Rentzsch, Rhea County Academy principal; Tim Hostetler, Rhea County Academy board chairman; and Dr. Todd Wood, Core Academy of Science president break ground in preparation for the new buildings on the Rhea County Academy campus.
